Mozirje

Mozirje ((ドイツ語:Prassberg))〔''Leksikon občin kraljestev in dežel zastopanih v državnem zboru,'' vol. 4: ''Štajersko''. 1904. Vienna: C. Kr. Dvorna in Državna Tiskarna, p. 46.〕 is a small town and municipality on the Savinja River in northern Slovenia. The area was part of the traditional region of Styria. It is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region.〔(Mozirje municipal site )〕
==Name==
Mozirje was mentioned in written sources in 1146 as ''Mosiri'' (and as ''Prossperch'' in 1231, ''Moziri'' in 1241, and ''Prasperch'' in 1391). The name is derived from the Slovene common noun ''mozirje'' 'swamp' and refers to the local geography.〔Snoj, Marko. 2009. ''Etimološki slovar slovenskih zemljepisnih imen''. Ljubljana: Modrijan and Založba ZRC, p. 273.〕 In the past the German name was ''Prassberg''.〔
